My entry for Go Godot Jam 3, Theme : Evolution.

You are a Battleshard, a cybernetic being that helps protect the system's datacores and structures, some of them have been corrupt and strange anomalies are starting to appear, and have somehow managed to overide the system's defense and even turned the mighty data dragons on their side.

You must reach the corrupted cores and destroy them, to do so you'll have to find your way through the system, and deactivate the emergency barriers blocking your way with their respective switches.

Beware the enemies seem to adapt and evolve !

How to play :

Use WASD on the keyboard to move, aim with the mouse, shoot with the left click, interact in menus with the spacebar key.

Credits :

Cool game. Lots of fun. The turrets seem to shoot at your last position, which makes them shoot to the right when you first approach and shoot to a random position when you leave their trigger area and come back. I love the artstyle!

Thanks :)

Yeah the turrets are super basic, i still don't quite understand how to make  more advanced stuff AI wise so that's the best i could pull off here ^^'but the shoot right thing is a bit of a mystery bug i didn't know how to fix, cause the area is supposed to have the player's location as soon as he enters and for some reason it first shoots then adjusts so probably a mistake on my end but i don't really understand what i did wrong.

Anyway glad you like the artstyle though  ^^ !

Hey! Long time no see! :)

Very nice game you've made here! Assets are very cool! The visual impact of the "mounted turret giant data worm" is great!
The gameplay is nice, even if I have a few remarks:

- The character feels a bit slow to me,

- It is easy to find "sweat spots" where "turrets" can't hit you and "monsters" are to far to  assault you (especially the bottom corners in the two "boss" rooms). I don't know if it is intended?

Anyway, great submission, keep creating good stuff! :)

Hey long time indeed :) thanks for stopping by !

Glad you like the assets ^^ i wanted to try something a bit more abstract this time, especially happy that you like th e "data worm" cause he took so much work to get done but even though it didn't add much gameplay wise i wanted to have something that just looked cool and see if i could make it XD

The character i wanted to strike a balance and not make it either too fast nor too slow, i initially wanted to have a dash to dodge and help with speed but couldn't figure how to make it work on time so i scrapped it :/

The turret thing isn't really intentional, the static ones were added almost last minute si i didn't place them all too well in the levels and in the boss room i wanted to not have them be too much and bullet hell - ish in case so this resulted in a bit of safe spots. Monsters and turrets use a very basic detector system so once the player is out of range  they just wander around or idle for turrets.

Regardless, glad you liked the game dude ! Anytime i can i'll keep creating stuff :)
