Orbital Hazard post jam update and fixes


Been working on an update with fixes and (hopefully) improvements to the game whenever i could since GWJ 34 ended 

and here's the result ^^

It took quite longer than i expected mostly because of the enemy behaviour that really had some wild unexpected glitches come up which i had never encountered before, and i've also added some quality of life features and various features from the feedback recieved during the jam. 

So enough rambling on my part here's the changelog :p


Post Jam Version Changelog :

  • Fixed enemy speed and various odd physics behaviours
  • Enemies now properly drop only a single health item upon death
  • Remapped keyboard keys with better layout for better experience ( shoot with D instead of Tab )
  • Added "Hold" button to fire instead of spamming it
  • Changed weapon upgrade for a "Burst" fire mode to hopefully make it more fun to use
  • Fixed damage issue with weapon upgrade that didn't deal the intended increased damage ( you can now one shot enemies with upgrade)
  • Added more sound effects to different actions such as items pickup etc...
  • Added particle effects to projectile impacts and death "splat" animation for enemies
  • Added "flash" effect on character sprite when firing, with proper color corresponding to projectile
  • Fully revamped health system to a more "metroid" like one, with numbered hp and collectable reserve tank upgrades 
  • Added some animation to the ship in "take off" cinematic
  • Changed hive counter to display "return to ship" prompt when all hives are destroyed
