Post Jam update time new effects, and new music


So time for another update, whith this time, some work on the gamefeel.

I've finally added some death animations to all enemies in the game, i went for a kinda classic sci fi "desintegration" effect, felt this suited the theme best instead of having explosions which would have been a bit off for non mechanical enemies, only exception here of course being the flying drones :p

Also added a spark effect on impact for every projectile in game, even though i made one animation for all, it took quite some time as every weapon had to have the effect adjusted individually to their specific mechanics. But hopefully this should add a bit more visual impact to them and be better then having the projectile just disapear when colliding with an obstacle ^^

I also didn't wanted to just do the same type of transition i did for my previous game between levels, so i made a little teleport animation for entering and exiting levels, and i thought it would be more fitting with the whole teleport theme of the game.

Last but not least i made a new music track, which makes 3 in total, i made it with the 4th level in mind so that's where it pops up.


That's all for this update and i hope you've been enjoying displazer as i build it, however i'll be putting this game's developement on hold for now, mostly because of the upcoming GMTK jam which i want to participate to :)

The new effects are cool! You should also add them to the weapon and health pickups.

One other thing that would be cool to add "directional" shooting for the default weapon. So, like in Contra, you could shoot in 45 degrees and upwards as well, not just straight ahead.

Sorry about the lack of directionnal shooting though :( , but for this particular game i'll probably leave it with the horizontal only type shot, so maybe for future projects (cause i definitively want to make a more contra like game at some point ^^)
