Chaos Squad a quick post jam update


Well got some time to work a bit on fixes to the game, hope this will iron out some of the main issues :p

Do note that there’s not really any kind of new content though.

Here’s the changelog for a quick overview :

Changelog Post Jam Update 1 :

  • Increased player mech’s movement speed a bit
  • Increased vertical aim’s angle to help with elevated targets
  • Almost doubled the projectile speed for every projectile type (though this counts for enemies too so watch out !)
  • As a test every sprite projectile has been changed to meshes to be more visible (hopefully doesn’t tank performance)
  • Revamped the screenshake effects as a whole to be more noticable
  • Added big screenshake effect when landing a jump to add more feedback upon impact
  • Added different screenshake effects when firing weapons depending on weapon type to juice up a bit more the weapon feel
  • Added new collision to some areas of the tutorial level to avoid player getting stuck in areas now reachable due to movement speed increase
  • Added a bit of clarification to selection arrows in menus to avoid player confusion on if they were interactible or not

So there it is ! MechJam 4’s been one hell of a ride to say the least XD

and i give a huge thanks to the community and all the people who took time to give my entry a try and comment on it, you rock !
